Surely, there are many good-exceptional ones, from what I've tasted, anyway. Only time will tell if the vintage truly deserves its current lofty reputation, and, the wines from top châteaux, the prices they command.

In my experience, a year being dubbed by professional reviewers as the "vintage of the century" holds only until the next one is so named.

Since you are, apparently, into central coast wines, you may want to look up http://www.westcoastwine.net (assuming you are not aware of this site yet). I am a frequent poster there and many who "inhabit" that site are well-learned with said wines, eminent of whom is Brad Harrington, the site's owner. Several winemakers from the central coast frequent that site as well. I think you will find it very interesting.

I met many people from WCWN when I attended the annual pre-Hospice du Rhône Dinner at the Villa Creek restaurant in Paso Robles (traditionally organized by Augie Hug of Hug Cellars) in May 2006. It was a lot of fun.

Check it out, why don't you?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-66573030229068992922008-06-25T10:59:00.000+08:002008-06-25T10:59:00.000+08:00I am a big fan of bordeaux wines and I've been sto...I am a big fan of bordeaux wines and I've been stocking up on the 2005 vintage since this will go down in history as one of the better ones. I am envious of the spectacular wines you have sampled in the past as documented in your blog. Your tasting notes are articulate and imaginative.
Kindly forward to my email, kusian@hotmail.com, doc's email address. I would like to say hello to him.

Let me know if you ever plan to visit California so that I can introduce you to some good wines from the central coast.kushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04071882026798198352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-69369797443736237912008-06-24T11:54:00.000+08:002008-06-24T11:54:00.000+08:00Thanks, kenty. This blog's more of a diary to remind myself of what wines I've had (mainly because my handwritten notes have a habit of getting lost/misplaced over time). Over the years, memory starts to fail, especially when muddled with alcohol. It is always nice to read comments of appreciation.

Best,

NAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-8893471226341692932008-06-24T10:43:00.000+08:002008-06-24T10:43:00.000+08:00Great blog, keep up the good work.
