Yes, my old notes show we had the '90 Conseillante and '95 Angelus over lunch at RED on 2 Sept 2005 (see: http://www.westcoastwine.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=54919&Number=291146#Post291146 )

That other dinner you mentioned ('00 Fleur de Gay, '98 Angelus, etc) was in January '06 at Pepato for Tina's birthday, as Jojo said. I don't think I made any notes on those (I'll check though) because I had too much wine and didn't write anything down.

NNoelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00877156455140431162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-24175142359787192902009-01-27T15:47:00.000+08:002009-01-27T15:47:00.000+08:003-4 years ago I attended a Ch. In comparison 1998 is a sexy beast, pure seduction. For me 1995 was a very intellectual Angelus, wine-critics will love it. 2000 and is out of this world and 2001 is also terrific.

Best,
Martin
www.berlinkitchen.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-48037077980995880562009-01-27T15:07:00.001+08:002009-01-27T15:07:00.001+08:00Chinkee - Ill email you the next time they have th...Chinkee - Ill email you the next time they have the dinner. Not so ...at least i got some of the bottles right. Not so bad considering i dont keep record..... but coming back to the ex-voto blanc, my contact in the States said that the wine might have gone through pre-mature oxidation which was common with white burgs notably in '95-96. he didnt get to explain what causes "pre-mox" however. The 2001 is the first bottling of ex-voto so there's no historical data to rely on. thank God we have not come across any off-bottlings of the ex-voto rouge! -jojoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-37638563256387205702009-01-27T09:26:00.000+08:002009-01-27T09:26:00.000+08:00jojo,we had the angelus '95 together with the la c...jojo,

we had the angelus '95 together with the la conseillante '90 for lunch at Red back in sept '05.

during the dinner at pepato 3 months later, we had the angelus '98, as well as la fleur de gay '00, in addition to the wines you mentioned.

what's happening to your memory, big guy?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-48947586067962297002009-01-27T08:55:00.000+08:002009-01-27T08:55:00.000+08:00i think Doc served an Angelus95 at Tina's birthday...i think Doc served an Angelus95 at Tina's birthday 3 years ago, along with a Valandraud01, Clos st martin00 and Ygrec00. we were in Pepato. -jojoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159578680459427485.post-32347749855994886882009-01-26T21:39:00.000+08:002009-01-26T21:39:00.000+08:00It's ok, you had a really nice dinner also at Sala...It's ok, you had a really nice dinner also at Sala a couple of nights ago, right? I told Doc that I still have quite a bit of this and he told me to "unload" them. i am more inclined to open one or two sometime soon. will let you know if my luck has changed. i too am a fan of angelus 94. in fact, i dont recall ever being disappointed with any vintage of this superb chateau! guys, time to revisit the 95 and 98!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
